Company OperationsKazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) JSC has been established in pursuance of the Kazakhstan Government Decree dated 14 July 1997. The Company founder is the State Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for State Assets Management. The state owns 100% of Company’s shares. The authorized capital of KEGOC was based on the assets of KazakhstanEnergo National Energy Company. The National Power Grid provides transmission of electricity from power producers delivering electricity directly to the Grid to the bulk consumers connected to the Grid (distribution companies, bulk consumers). KEGOC is in charge of creating the development strategy, forming the technical policy for the sector, preparing the future plans and programs, managing the balance. In accordance with the Government Program for Future Electricity Market Development for 1997–2000 and the Government Resolution, KEGOC is entrusted with the powers of the institutor and technical operator of the wholesale electricity market.
