Today, for the first time, portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna signed off-take contracts with domestic producers under the Agreement on Cooperation between Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund and Atameken Kazakhstan National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
In particular, the contract for supply of high-voltage equipment was signed between Asia Trafo LLP and KEGOC JSC.
N. Mukhanov, Managing Director for Procurement of KEGOC, noted that today is a landmark in the history of formation and development of the electricity industry in Kazakhstan, and the business community on the whole. Under the terms of the contract, Asia Trafo, the largest plant in the Central Asia, being a part of the leading Kazakhstan manufacturer of electrical equipment Alageum Electric, will supply KEGOC with modern 500 kV shunt reactors to replace outdated reactors at 500 kV TsGPP, Essil, Sokol and Agadyr substations.
Thus, the development of import substitution will make a significant contribution to ensuring the energy security of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The contract implementation has an important social aspect in supporting domestic producers and creating employment.
