According to the Decision of the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, new tariffs for the regulated KEGOC services will be introduced starting from 1 September 2011.
The cost of services for power transmission via the national power grid will be 0.953 tenge per 1 kWh and the cost of services for technical dispatching of electric power supply to network and consumption will be 0.118 tenge per 1 kWh.
Meantime, the tariff for the electric power generation and consumption balancing will remain unchanged, at the 0.032 tenge per 1 kWh price.
Increase in the tariffs for KEGOC services is caused by meeting the obligations under the loans raised to implement the Company’s investment projects and the necessity to increase the costs to compensate technological losses of electric energy in the NPG networks through the electric energy price growth.
KEGOC functions as a System Operator of the Unified Power System of Kazakhstan, and its main objective is to ensure a stable operation of the UPS and maintain reliable control over the National Power Grid.
