Uzbekenergo repaid debts to KEGOC


In December 2017, Uzbekenergo fully repaid the main debt to KEGOC under electricity supply and power control contracts for 2011-2017.

These contracts were concluded to maintain reliable and stable parallel operation of the Unified Electric Power System of Kazakhstan and the power  system of Uzbekistan. However over the past few years there have been several defaults on the part of the power system of Uzbekistan.

But as a result of KEGOC's efforts, this issue was resolved positively. The total amount of principal repaid by Uzbekenergo for 2011-2017 is about USD 143 million.

Now the collaboration of KEGOC and Uzbekenergo has reached a new qualitative level. In the future, KEGOC intends to continue deepening collaboration with Uzbekenergo including in terms of reliability of parallel operation takinng into account the world trends in the development of power systems.
