One of the main KEGOC’s objectives is to ensure compliance of its operations and operations of its subsidiaries with the sustainable development principles, the coherence of their economic, environmental and social objectives for sustainable development and creation of economic value in the long term. 

KEGOC realizes the importance of its impact on the economy, environment and society, pursues the long-term value growth ensuring its sustainability in the long term and maintains the balance of stakeholders’ interests. KEGOC supports the principles of the United Nations Global Compact with respect to human rights, employment relations, protection of environment and anti-corruption, that include:

Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and

Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;

Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labour; and

Principle 6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle 8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility;

Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Principle 10: Businesses should work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.

Guidelines. Sustainable development managment system

Sustainable development is the development in which organizations manage their environment, economic, social impact and make decisions with due consideration of the stakeholders' interests.

Based on international standards for sustainable development, standards of AA1000 series, principles of the UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), KEGOC’s Charter and KEGOC’s Corporate Governance Code.

Corporate social responsibility for power companies: improving efficiency of the business.

On August 25, 2023, S&P Global, an independent rating agency, assigned KEGOC an ESG rating of S&P Global CSA Score 2023* at 51/100.

The S&P Global CSA Score 2023 (Corporate Sustainability Assessment) is the rating agency's assessment of the Company's performance in three key sustainability segments: Environment (E), Society (S), and Corporate Governance (G), each of which is evaluated based on its importance to the relevant sub-sector. Each of these three metrics gives a more detailed assessment of the Company's performance on ESG problems in comparison to its rivals.
