KEGOC starts upgrading SCADA/EMS

KEGOC launched a project to modernize its automatic data acquisition and dispatching control system (SCADA/EMS). As part of the project, the existing system will be replaced with the domestic FACEPLATE software platform. This is the latest platform developed by domestic specialists. The project is being implemented with KEGOC's own funds and is expected to be completed in 2025.
According to Yeraly Shinassilov, the head of the National Dispatch Centre of the System Operator branch of KEGOC JSC, the modernization shall improve the efficiency of the dispatch control of the unified power system of Kazakhstan and the observability of electricity market entities.
“KEGOC’s current SCADA/EMS system has reached its end of life. As a result, in order to address long-term objectives and meet the company's existing needs, such as widespread development of renewable energy generation, the establishment of a balancing market, the establishment of technological systems and elements of smart grids, the company is modernising the SCADA/EMS hardware and software complex,” he noted.
