Adverse weather conditions have caused power lines outage in southern Kazakhstan

On 16 March 2021, at 9.43 pm of Nur-Sultan time, 220 kV Karatau-Opolnaya overhead transmission line was shut down due to adverse weather conditions. At the same time, 220 kV Zhezkazgan-Kyzylorda overhead line at GPP-1 substation of Baikonurenergo, was shut down by emergency automation, which resulted in short-term shedding of consumer load.

KEGOC personnel acted promptly to eliminate the technological disruption.

At 11.16 pm, power supply at the disconnected substations was restored.

At 9.49 am on 17 March, the original power supply scheme was restored.

Now, all equipment is operating normally with no power supply restrictions from KEGOC.
