KEGOC is preparing power facilities for operation in 2021-2022 autumn-winter period Language English

KEGOC, since April this year, has been carrying out a repair campaign to prepare power grid facilities for  2021-2022 autumn-winter period. First of all, the employees are focused on the overhead power lines and electrical substations of the company.

This year, the power engineers plan to repair 93 power lines and 43 units of substation equipment, including buildings, structures and vehicles. Currently, the repair campaign on overhead power lines and substation equipment is in full swing. The company is also replenishing an emergency stock of materials, spare parts, structures and fuels and lubricants. Line maintenance teams are provided with specialized equipment, all the necessary devices and overalls.

All this is necessary for the reliable functioning of the National Power Grid of Kazakhstan and the successful operation in the autumn-winter peaking period.

The team of KEGOC intends to complete the work on the preparation of power grid facilities within the approved schedule. After completion of the work, all reporting documents will be submitted to the Ministry of Energy to obtain a certificate of readiness for operation in the autumn-winter period.

Information about the Company

KEGOC is the System Operator of the Unified Power System of Kazakhstan, and it owns and manages the assets of the National Power Grid (NPG). The company operates as the natural monopoly. It has about 26.4 thousand kilometres of 220-1150 kV electricity transmission lines and 81 electrical substations with Moreover, 38.7 GVA of installed transformer capacity.
