Tsentralnye MES branch became the winner of the 2021 Best in Occupational Safety competition among inter-system power grids (MES).

The competition is held annually.

The results of the competition were announced during the meeting at the field workshop, which was chaired by Bakytkhan Zhazykbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board, in KEGOC’s Yuzhnye MES branch (city of Shymken). The workshop was also attended by Kanat Ayapbergenov, Head of Occupational Health and Safety Department, Bauyrzhan Arystanov, Head of Operation Department, Yerassyl Shinassilov, Head of NDC SO, Chief Engineers of MES branches and Heads of Health and Safety functions in the MES branches.

As part of the meeting, the personnel of Shymkent 500kV substation demonstrated the process of workplace preparation on the SF6 220kV circuit-breaker bay. Also, the procedure of admittance of the crew to the prepared workplace and demonstration of safety techniques at heights with the use of a safety harness were shown.
