Kanysh Moldabayev, the chairman of the management board of KEGOC, and Nandita Parshad, the managing director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, spoke today, December 1, 2022. The meeting was held as part of the Central Asian Investment Forum, which was held in Tokyo, Japan. Participants included representatives from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Prospects for EBRD involvement in KEGOC projects aiming at modernising and expanding Kazakhstan's National Power Grid were explored at the talks.

KEGOC is currently working on a number of projects and is starting two large-scale investment projects: West Kazakhstan Power System Interconnection Project and South Kazakhstan Electricity Transmission Reinforcement Project. These projects are being undertaken under the direction of the President of Kazakhstan.
