On September 18, 2023, a delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Zhandos Nurmaganbetov, Vice Minister of Energy and Nabi Aitzhanov, KEGOC Chairman of the Management Board, participated in several meetings in Moscow.

The delegation visited the control room and personnel training centre of the Main Dispatch Control of the UES of Russia, gaining insights into operations from Fedor Opadchiy, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC SO UES. Opadchiy discussed the current situation in the Russian power system and highlighted the dispatch control systems used within the UES.

The delegation also visited the Administrator of the Trading System of the Russian Wholesale Electricity Market (ATS) at the Eurasian Economic Union (EEC). They learned about the principles and conditions for operating the day-ahead and balancing markets.

The visit concluded with the delegation participating in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union member states in the energy sector. Discussions focused on finding common ground on draft documents essential for the functioning of the Union's common electricity market.
