Nabi Aitzhanov, CEO of KEGOC, Meets with Staff of Akmolinskiye MES Branch

The head of the branch, Ramazan Dodeshev, provided an update on the branch's current activities. Akmolinskiye MES is the largest branch of the company, responsible for transmitting electricity to consumers in the capital, as well as in the Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions. Over the first eight months of this year, the branch has improved the reliability of the power supply and reduced the number of network outages. Repairs on 78 facilities have been completed, and the power grid is on track to be winter-ready within the established deadlines.
The investment programme is being fully implemented, with operational assets functioning properly, necessary equipment in place, and construction and installation work ahead of schedule.
Nabi Aitzhanov reviewed the branch's performance and also discussed the company’s current operations and future development plans. The company finished 2023 with strong results, meeting all key performance indicators. The power system operated reliably, and the 2023-2024 autumn-winter peak load period was successfully managed.
In the first eight months of 2024, the company has demonstrated equally positive results, both in production and financial metrics, allowing it to meet its obligations to shareholders and continue its investment activities aimed at developing the national power grid (NPG).
The CEO emphasized the company’s updated development strategy, which includes plans for the accelerated development of the NPG through 2035. This includes projects to implement Smart Grid elements and initiatives that will utilize artificial intelligence.
"In the near future, major infrastructure projects are planned for this region. We are beginning to enhance the external power supply scheme for Astana. This will be a unique project in terms of the use of modern technology. A 500 kV digital substation 'Astana' will be built near the capital. It will be connected by 500 kV lines to the existing 500 kV TsGPP substation in the capital and the planned substation in Karaganda. Therefore, the branch staff will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of these projects," noted Nabi Aitzhanov.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the CEO instructed that all planned repair work be completed on schedule, with strict adherence to production safety standards, and that the tasks under the investment programme be fulfilled. He thanked the team for their excellent results and encouraged employees to be even more proactive in improving production processes and to participate in innovation and other corporate programmes.
