KEGOC's Severnye MES Branch is Ready for the 2024-2025 Autumn-Winter Period

KEGOC’s CEO, Nabi Aitzhanov, reviewed the performance of Severnye MES branch for the first eight months of 2024. Branch Director Azamat Amrenov reported that the repair works on the branch’s power grid facilities are nearing completion. In total, the repair programme includes 74 facilities, comprising 18 transmission lines, 6 substation equipment units, 13 buildings and structures, and 37 vehicles and specialised equipment.
During the reporting period, the branch saw a decrease in emergency outages in its power grids. In the spring of this year, during the peak flood season, preventive measures were ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the region.
Nabi Aitzhanov discussed the company’s current operations and key development plans. The company ensured the reliable operation of the power system and finished 2023 with strong results, achieving all key performance indicators. Since the beginning of the year, the company has shown positive dynamics in both operational and financial metrics, with the volume of services provided increasing and net profit 49% higher than in the same period last year.
Aitzhanov elaborated on the company’s efforts to improve employees’ social well-being, the results of the incentive and loyalty programme, and shared plans for the coming years. Creating safe working conditions and ensuring production safety are key aspects of the company’s operations. The head of KEGOC reminded everyone of the importance of preventing workplace accidents.
In conclusion, Nabi Aitzhanov instructed the team to ensure the reliable operation of the networks and to keep the completion of repair works within the planned deadlines and in full under special control. He also thanked the branch team for their productive work and encouraged them to be more proactive in improving work processes, as well as actively participating in inventive activities and other corporate projects.

The branch’s asset portfolio includes high-voltage transmission lines with a total length of approximately 3.7 km and 8 substations with voltage levels ranging from 220 to 1150 kV. The branch is the starting point for all three 500 kV "North-South" transit lines, through which electricity is transmitted from the region’s largest power plants, such as Ekibastuz GRES-1 and GRES-2, to the southern regions of the country.
