A working meeting of heads of water and energy authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent
On 12 October 2024, a working meeting of the heads of water and energy authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held at the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Almassadam Satkaliyev, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, representatives of KEGOC, the Financial Settlement Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources and Samruk-Energy JSC.
The main focus of the meeting was on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of water and energy systems during the autumn-winter period. Participants agreed on network operating schedules and discussed further measures to maintain system stability.
In addition, key joint projects were discussed, including the current state of construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, as well as issues of coordinating the water and energy balance.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a corresponding protocol.
