Research activities at KEGOC are carried out on an ongoing basis and focus on addressing technological challenges, contributing to the development of the national energy sector. Over the past five years, eight significant projects have been implemented to address key technological issues, most of them funded through grant financing.
KEGOC has compiled a new list of technological challenges to be addressed starting in 2025. These include:
- robotic cleaning of transmission line conductors;
- prevention of icing and vibration;
- optimization of technincal electricity consumption;
- implementation of innovative solutions to enhance power system resilience using renewable energy sources (RES).
KEGOC also emphasizes inventive activity, which continues to generate significant economic and qualitative benefits. In 2024, the number of submitted rationalization proposals increased fourfold compared to the previous year. From 2018 to 2023, the company recorded benefits totalling KZT 119 million, part of which was paid to employees as rewards for their developments.
Additionally, KEGOC has initiated the establishment of the CIGRE National Committee for Central Asia, which will open new opportunities for international scientific and technical cooperation in the energy sector and ensure knowledge and experience exchange among specialists.
