KEGOC celebrates the year's top innovation proposals

At a recent meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of KEGOC, the company announced the results of its annual Innovation Proposals Competition. The initiative aims to identify the most impactful improvement ideas and foster a culture of innovation and inventiveness among employees.
In 2024, KEGOC staff submitted over 100 proposals, with 16 recognised as official innovation submissions. Following expert evaluation, the winning entries were selected:
1st Place: “Using the activation function of the CSD100 device to control the switching sequence of 500 kV reactor circuit breakers” submitted by employees of Almatinskiye MES branch.
2nd Place (shared by two branches):
“An additional control circuit for the heating of SF6 110/220 kV tank circuit breakers” — Severnye MES branch;
“A system to compensate for temperature-induced volume changes in transformer oil within the TMG-1000/10-UHL1 communication transformer tank, ensuring stable pressure in the cooling system during operation” — Vostochnye MES branch.
3rd Place (awarded to three proposals)
“Polymer insulator spacer to prevent conductors from pressing against support structures” — Almatinskiye MES branch;
“Audible alarm system to detect erroneous removal of the mesh barrier from the cable compartment of a live 10 kV switchgear unit” — Vostochnye MES branch;
“Implementation of remote access and time synchronisation for relay protection (Siprotec) terminals installed at third-party substations” — Almatinskiye MES branch.
The winners were commended for their contribution to the company’s ongoing development and received cash prizes in recognition of their achievements.
KEGOC remains committed to supporting employee-driven innovation and the efficient use of resources, viewing these efforts as key drivers of sustainable growth and technological leadership within Kazakhstan’s energy sector.
