KEGOC carries out maintenance campaign as planned

In April 2025, KEGOC launched its maintenance campaign aimed at ensuring the reliable and uninterrupted operation of the National Power Grid in preparation for the autumn–winter period of 2025–2026.
Under the approved operational plan, 99 overhead transmission lines and 43 units of substation equipment have been scheduled for repair this year. As of early August, in line with the equipment outage schedule, repair works have already been completed on 57 overhead lines and 14 units of substation equipment.
The maintenance campaign covers all regions of the country. In particular, in May this year, repair works commenced at KEGOC’s Central MES branch, where 12 transmission lines and 18 units of substation equipment have been scheduled for repair. To date, work has been completed on 8 transmission lines and 6 units of substation equipment. All work is being carried out strictly in accordance with the approved schedule.
“Our goal is to ensure the timely and high-quality preparation of equipment for the autumn–winter period. Each stage of the maintenance campaign is closely monitored, and we strictly adhere to the established deadlines. This is our contribution to the stability and reliability of the country’s entire power system. At present, repair works are being carried out on L-2188 220 kV transit transmission line of the Balkhash TES, which is involved in the power supply of the Aktogai district and the city of Balkhash. The quality of repair work directly affects the electricity supply of the entire Balkhash region,” noted Adilzhan Isabayev, a 4th-grade transmission line maintenance electrician at the Balkhash substation.
Carrying out the maintenance campaign as planned will allow KEGOC to obtain the certificate of readiness for the autumn–winter period of 2025–2026 on time and ensure the stable operation of the national power system under conditions of increased load.
