Planned financing: KZT 32.739 billion from loans, and KZT 15.437 billion from the Company's funds

Location: West Kazakhstan, Aktobe and Kostanay Oblasts of Kazakhstan

Project description: The rehabilitation objects: 24 OHTLs of 220-500 kV, located in Aktyubinskiye MES (6 lines of 220 kV), Zapadnye MES (1 line of 220-500 kV) and Sarbaiskiye MES (17 lines of 220 kV). The length of the rehabilitated 220-500 kV overhead lines is 2,023 km.

Project implementation: The feasibility study (FS) was developed and approved by GosExpertiza (opinion No. 04-0076/18 dated 21 May 2018).

The management board of KEGOC approved the key parameters of the project (Minutes No. 24 dated 10 October 2018). The board of directors of KEGOC approved the technical parameters and performance indicators of the project for “Rehabilitation of 220-500 kV OHTLs in Aktyubinskiye MES, Sarbaiskiye MES, and Zapadnye MES branches’, and approved the transition of the project to the “Definition” and “Implementation” stages (Minutes No. 2 dated 28 February 2019).

The contracts for packaged work were concluded in 2019, including turnkey construction:

1) No. 01-25-D-620 dated 19.08.2019 for "Rehabilitation of 220 kV overhead lines of Sarbayskiye MES and Zapadnye MES branches of KEGOC” with Promstroy-Energo LLP;

2) No. 01-25-D-617 dated 19.08.2019 for "Rehabilitation of 500 kV overhead lines of Sarbaiskiye MES branch of KEGOC” with ASPMK-519 LLP;

3) No. 01-25-D-618 dated 19.08.2019 for "Rehabilitation of 220 kV overhead lines of Aktyubinskiye MES and Zapadnye MES branches of KEGOC” with KarElektroSpetsStroy LLP;

In 2020 the design and estimate documentation was developed for all 24 overhead line rehabilitation facilities and respective positive expert opinions were obtained.

Construction has been in progress since 2021. Currently, on all 24 overhead lines selected for reconstruction, construction and installation work has been completed, 2,023 km of overhead lines of existing 220-500 kV power transmission lines of the KEGOC JSC branches Aktobe MES, Western MES and Sarbai MES". An increase in the reliability of the NPG of Kazakhstan and a reduction in wear and tear on the Company’s electrical network have been achieved.
