In 2025, KEGOC JSC launched a major initiative to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, Abai Kunanbayuly. The project featured a range of events, including:
1) Writing competitions focusing on the life and works of Abai, specifically:
- A dictation challenge for employees from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
- An essay competition for staff with advanced proficiency in the Kazakh language.
2) A youth talent competition for employees’ children, featuring recitations of Abai’s poetry and Book of Words, as well as musical performances of his songs.
3) A Q&A session with Ayan Otepbergen, the renowned Kazakh stage and screen actor who portrayed Abai in the production Abai–Togjan.
4) A theatrical performance titled Abai – Giant of the Era.
5) An awards ceremony to recognise employees for their outstanding contribution to promoting the state language within the company.
The project was a resounding success, thanks to the active participation of staff from the Executive Administration, Akmola MES, Central MES, Energoinform JSC, and the families of our employees.

Following the competitions held on 20 June 2025 at the Executive Administration to mark the 180th anniversary of the great poet Abai Kunanbayuly, we are pleased to announce the winners in each category:
Dictation Challenge: "Abai – The Great Kazakh Poet"

- 2nd Place: Viktoriya Pavlovskaya – Manager, NDC SO Branch.
- 3rd Place: Natalya Khan – Manager, Relay Protection & Substation Automation Department.
Essay Competition: "Modernity Through the Eyes of Abai"
1st Place:
- Guldana Iskakova – Chief Expert Coordinator, HR & Social-Labour Relations Department.
- Nazerke Umergalieva – Manager, Legal Department.
2nd Place:
- Aset Mustafa – Manager, National Grid Connection Department.
- Dastan Sarmurzanov – Manager, Relay Protection & Substation Automation Department.
3rd Place:
- Tuganay Bekkozha – Category 2 Engineer, Akmola MES Branch.
- Roza Botaeva – Category 1 Engineer, Akmola MES Branch.
On 6 August 2025, a formal ceremony was held where winners were presented with commemorative gifts, letters of appreciation, and bouquets of flowers.
