R & D

Research and development

R&D in the Company is aimed at the achievement of strategic goals of the Company in accordance with the Development Strategy and Innovation and Technology Development Strategy.

R&D management is viewed as a process that spans the full development life cycle, beginning with the identification of priority scientific and technical tasks and concluding with the assessment and accounting of the real impact of R&D outcomes on KEGOC's practical activities.

The key objectives of R&D management in the Company and its branches are as follows:

1) create, classify, and develop R&D planning and implementation processes, taking into account their priority and urgency for the Company's innovation and technology development;

2) ensure efficient interaction of processes associated with the development and use of R&D products; and

3) implement R&D results to improve the efficiency and quality of operational and business processes.

Patenting the results of work

1.       R&D of development of design documentation for a modified anchor unit for guy wires of POG-1150-1, POG-1150-5, POG-1150-11 type suspension towers to install the anchor unit above the ground surface instead of its current underground installation

Based on the results of the work, an innovative patent No. 27514 was obtained, registered in the State Register of Inventions, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Appellations of Origin, Breeding Achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The detailed information on the patent is available on on the website: https://gosreestr.kazpatent.kz/Invention/Details?docNumber=192532

Benefits: this innovation reduces the cost of inspecting the anchor attachment of the guy wires, that previously required excavation work. The innovation was implemented on the 1150 kV Ekibastuzskaya – Kokshetauskaya, Kokshetauskaya – Kostanayskaya, Kostanaiskaya – Chelyabinskaya and Ekibastuzskaya – Altai overhead lines.

2.       FS of reducing corona electricity losses in the NPG of Kazakhstan

As a result of the work, the following patents for the invention were obtained, registered in the State Register of Inventions, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Appellations of Origin, Breeding Achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) No. 32955 Electrolytic arc installation;

2) No. 34167 Anti-corona coating, a method for its creation and an electrolytic solution used in the method.

The detailed information on patents is available on the website:

https://gosreestr.kazpatent.kz/Invention/Details?docNumber=274598

https://gosreestr.kazpatent.kz/Invention/Details?docNumber=289540

Benefits: These inventions reduces corona losses on conductors of overhead power lines during rain.
