NINA KARPACHYOVA

Nina Karpachyova was born on 19 September 1931 in Batmanovka village of Peshkov region, Kustanai oblast. She attended Batmanovka School, and during the Great Patriotic War at the age of ten she began to work at the collective farm, where she did such auxiliary works as hay transportation, calf feeding, snow cleaning, and went on errands of adults. Together with others she knitted socks for soldiers, and collected parcels to send to the front. Later she worked on the tractor and the harvester.

In 1954, she married and together with her husband went to Yessenkul to develop virgin lands. In 1959, she with her husband left for Chelyabinsk oblast of the Russian SFSR. There she worked as an auxiliary worker at the construction of concrete road. Later she worked in a cement factory in Korkino village. In 1964, she with her husband moved to Rudny town, where she worked in Sokolovsk-Sarbaisk ore mining and processing plant as distribution network operator. In 1974, she joined the Sarbaisk RES (utility company) where she had been working at 500 kV Sokol substation till 1997.

At the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Nina Karpachyova was awarded an anniversary medal. She was also awarded a medal for Valorous Labour during the Great Patriotic War.
